Ted Casher here: Yes---I play on 2 fixed bridges, both upper and lower.
The lower one is permanently in place; the upper one comes out every 6
months. The pressure exerted by the clarinet/sax mpce causes the liner to
wash out, creating looseness. The looseness creates decay.

However, my dentist uses Temerex, which withstands a lot of pressure. I
have been playing on fixed bridges since 1986.

Pricey, but worth it. Good luck. TC
