We've had this discussion before, I think. In some contexts I'll agree -
but this can't be posited as a universal truth. It depends on the tune.

If it's a Bill Holman chart with 5 trumpets above the staff (some *way* up),
a full contingent of t'bones and a squad of mellophones to boot, your reeds
might need a little reinforcement to balance. If you're playing electric
blues, it's hard to keep up with a Stratocaster without some help too.
