I don't think anyone, least of all Dan, is suggesting that clarinets
don't change with time and use (or lack of use). But that's very
different from suggesting that "blowout" (i.e. long-term degeneration)
is a ubiquitous phenomenon among all [wooden] clarinets subject to
intensive use.

Good care and maintenance over time tend seem to me to be much more
important than worrying about whether you are playing your instrument
too much.
