Actually some Yamaha clarinets are reputed to be pitched at 442. I have
to say that I don't find much of a difference between 440 & 442 -
certainly nothing that can't be accommodated by pulling a barrel or
other joint of the instrument, assuming that the instrument has a
reasonable scale to start with. There are so many tuning variances on
the clarinet that the difference between 440 and 442 doesn't seem to
make a lot of practical difference.

I know that some mouthpiece makers make mouthpieces that tune at 442.
My question, to which I have never received a satisfactory answer, is -
does this mouthpiece pitch designation imply a clarinet originally
tuned to 440 or 442?
