Wow, did this blow me away. Make sure you watch the video attached to the
article. I felt like I had the score right there in my hands!

I have never discussed this before, but I am a tremendous admirer of the
late Beethoven Quartets. Do you know how it is, when you feel like the composer
is talking directly to you...looking into your brain, your thoughts, your
feelings.....? That's how the late quartets affect me. My favorite is the
Quartet in C# minor, Op. 131.

This music was introduced and taught to me by composer and pianist Paul
Schoenfield, whom I was extremely fortunate to have studied with as an
undergraduate student. Although I have not seen him in about 21 years, he was a great
mentor and friend, and a fantastic musician. Someday I will tell you about the
"drop the needle test" he gave in Chamber Music Lit.........................
