I wonder if someone might tell me more about a clarinet a friend of
mine has given me. She seems to think that it's a C clarinet, but, when
a barrel and mouthpiece are added from my Bb clarinet, sounds just like
my Bb.

It's a one-piece plastic/ebonite model, stamped with "G. PRUEFER -MFR-
PROV. R.I." and possibly "LP" and "B" below that. The serial number
appears to be 1310. The bell isn't the original (it doesn't even fit
very well) and there is no mouthpiece or barrel.

It has a wrap-around octave key, an alternate left-hand key for the low
G#/Ab, and includes a low Eb.

When might this have been manufactured? Is it indeed a Bb model? Is
there any collector value? And is it worth refurbishing?

Best regards,
Don Morris
