Dan reported:

<<<Fountain was interviewed tonight on the NBC news. Apparently,
the hurricane and flood took three of his clarinets and sent them
down river somewhere. His remarks were that he was grateful to
be alive with his family.>>>

I think that Selmer/LeBlanc (whomever they are now) should be able to find
PF another clarinet. He's done much to help them over the years.

I fondly remember the concert at the Orpheum in New Orleans at the 2001 (?)
Clarinet Festival. PF came out on stage, and looked a bit nervous in front
of a couple thousand clarinetists - for about half of the first piece. They
played really well that night, and the audience was very appreciative.

I hope New Orleans can regain their cachet - it's such a lovely city to
visit.
