My New Orleans customer, Dr Michael White in his own words...

Hello Donald:

I was just able to access my e-mail yesterday. It was good hearing from you.
I relocated to Houston after escaping the Hurricane by a day. I did manage
to save some of my clarinets, but had to leave many of them. My house was
close to one of the canal breeches and ended up under 9ft of water.
I can't begin to tell you what this experience has been like. I'm still
hoping to wake up from this bad dream and find it to have been just a
nightmare!

Thanks for your concern and friendship. I'm ok with horns for right now.
I've started to get a few jobs around the country and am trying to get some
sense of a "normal" life
by playing. I've been moving around hotels in Houston but hope to find an
apartment soon. I'll let you know when I have an address.

..Since then Dr White has given me a mailing address to which I have
responded concerning a clarinet he expressed an interest in trying...With
things like they are at the
moment, we can talk price later if you wish...or I'll let you tell me what
it's worth and how you'd like to pay....whatever suits you at the moment. I
know it must be tough for you now with the college down and your possessions
ruined. I'm reminded of the old Hank Williams Sr song (From Luke the
Drifter) that said...but we're still a'livin, so everything's ok...

I guess I just want the community to feel...understand... or maybe at least
theorize what it must be like to lose a lifetime of possessions overnight.
You might find a reason to examine your priorities.
