I would hate to lose 3 of my clarinets (especially since I only own 5,
counting the bass clarinet, and one of them is just waiting to be
turned into a lamp*), but yeah, things like this do put it in
perspective.

Of course, Pete Fountain can always get another clarinet or three. But
if his luck is like mine, the three he lost were a) the ones that
played the best and/or b) the ones that really meant something to him.

*not the bass, although that would be an interesting project
