Scammers are actively watching the woodwind.org classifieds, per the
warning on the site

Actually in the body of the scammers e-mail is their real reply e-mail. The
return address in the headers is always false, but they have to give you a
real e-mail so that they can monitor it for the suckers who reply.

ps - I got an e-mail yesterday from a "students mom" which started out
"Dear Mr. Blumberg--I am send this e-mail to you from my home in Los
Angeles."
It was a referal from a friend Clarinetist who had called me the night
before to tell me that it was coming, but if I hadn't gotten the call, I
would have assumed it to be a scam just from the wording. It was for a real
University Student, and I spoke later that day to his former teacher about
him in depth. Real player, real student, not a nigerian scammer asking to
send me 4 months tuition in advance minus the change.
I guess the "cynical" look at everything today can sometimes bite you, but
always better to be safe than sorry.
