Hi Ellis
Having studied at Trinity last year, I can tell you that there are some
awesome classical clarinet teachers there - Michael Whight and Hale
Hambleton to name but a couple..
The Jazz school is very pro-active, providing lots of opportunities for
students to perform and engage in the Jazz scene - and London is a great
place to be to hear lots of good jazz - not necessarily at high cost,
particularly if you are a student. The staff are supportive without being
too intrusive and the whole place is alive with music and music-making
opportunities
The College owns a performing complex at Blackheath - about 15 minutes walk
away form the main College - which itself is right on the Thames at
Greenwich -almost next door to the Cutty Sark. The jazz students perform
there frequently - I remember even hearing a jazz harp player!
I would say it is an opportunity not to be missed - I am looking forward to
returning there next year for graduation ceremony.
