Now hang on, Warren. I should perhaps apologize for the word "rabid".
Otherwise, however, what I said was simply factual. I was merely
correcting a minor factual error in Ken's original message. This
budget-cutting proposal comes from the Republican Study Committee, a
subset of of the Republican membership of the House, and not from the
Republican leadership.
These are folks who tend to be opposed on principle to things like
government support of the arts. Naturally, they will regard the the
increased budget shortfall resulting from Katrina as an opportunity to
press their usual agenda.
