Tim,
Yes, it's true...unless you want to learn to do C transposition. I do
it all the time and it is not difficult with a b-flat instrument. With
my alto sax, it's interesting. Luckily, most pop tunes are so simple
that you can pretty much fake your way through. Of course, you CAN get
the B-flat book also...
