If you haven't looked already, there have been several posts about Hansons
on the bulletin board:

mostly they were from very pleased customers.

Subject: [kl] Hanson clarinets.
Dear list,
Time for Daniel's obscure question of the month, again.
I've been playing a B&H regent for about 8 years, and have been told by my
"teacher" that I need to upgrade, as it is holding me back. I am visiting
the UK in about a week, and want to buy a new clarinet there. I was thinking
of buying a Buffet RC Greenline, because of dodgy humidity and other
conditions that I live in (I live in Cyprus (so humid!) now, and I will
hopefully be joining the ship M.V. Doulos (www.mvdoulos.org) for 2 years in
January).
Thanks to this list I looked at Howarths in the UK, and other shops which
have large stocks of Buffet's. Apparently though it is impossible to buy a
new RC Greenline in the UK at the moment, so I started looking for
alternatives. Also, as it is impossible to get insurance on the instrument
while on the M.V. Doulos, an RC Greenline is a *lot* of money to be
uninsured...
One thing I have been interested in is the Hanson clarinets. Particually
their
SE-5 instruments, which are made in Ebonite, and also "Eco Wood" which to me
looks something like Greenline.
I was thinking this is less expensive than an RC, and *if* it is not as good
as I need in 3 years time, I could sell it and upgrade again.
Is there anyone with experience of the SE-5 or other high level Hanson
clarinets?
Does this seem sensible?
Thanks for your time,
Dan
