I took a look at the website and it appears that they make a very high
quality product. It's very possible that they sell every clarinet that they can
make and keep that high quality of product. If that is the case, then they do
not need retailers.

I have two distributors who sell my mouthpieces, WW&BW and Howarth in
London. At this time I am not actively looking for other distributors as I really
cannot do many more mouthpieces than I am currently preparing. Another
strategy would be to sell everything through distributors, and cut out the customer
contact part, but I still very much enjoy the direct customer interaction.

Very possibly Hanson is in the same position. If they want to grow bigger,
they might have to change strategies.
