The lists for student instruments are generally non-existent, but
extrapolating the Buescher list and recalling personal experience in the
business, I'd place this sax in the late 1980's to early 1990's. They have
only in the last few years STOPPED making the Bundy II alto, although the
tenor continues (under the name Selmer 1244). Bundys are not my favorite
saxes, but they are durable and play reasonably well in tune. The design,
although updated for right-side bell keys, is derived from the Buescher
Aristocrat of the 1930's to 60's. It lacks the refined features of the
classic Aristocrat (like the nifty leverage-creating mechanism on the low
C# key), though, making it more like the lower-line "Elkhart" model, and
has had the materials further cheapened over time. The keywork is better
in smaller hands than mine. In any case, it beats the heck out of any
Chinese import.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
