Is there any worthy woodwinds shop in Rome?
Any music shop specialized in sheet music?

I have two editions of clarinet arrangements for
Flight of the Bumblebee. One is transcribed and
edited by Jerry Kirkbride and published by
International Music with a 1983 copyright. The other
is a Rubank edition, transcribed by H.W. Davis and
edited by H. Voxman, with a 1935 copyright. The
Kirkbride edition is written so that the clarinet
plays in B-flat (that is, the clarinet part has two
flats), whereas the Davis/Voxman edition has the
clarinet part in C.

Recognizing that both are transcriptions, is there
nevertheless an edition which is "preferred" by
educators and clarinetists? Does anyone happen to
know what the key is for the scherzo in the Opera?
Thanks for whatever thoughts you'd like to share.

The edition where the Clarinet has the run as E,D#,D,C#,C and not
F#,F,E,D#,D.

Daniel,

The best place to go is Howarth in London, Chiltern street. You can
check
them out online at howarth.uk.com. John Myatts are also well stocked in
Hitchin, near Luton. The other place you may be able to get to is in
Taunton, Somerset- John Packers.
They will all have RCs and are very helpful.

While you're online you could also visit John Myatts at
<http://www.myatt.co.uk/> and John Packer at
<http://www.johnpacker.co.uk/>

I notice Howarth's web site says "Our workshops in Worthing are now
supplying our full range of services." Whether or not this means they
sell clarinets isn't clear, but it's not far from Brighton.
