I bought both my first Buffet Bb and my first Buffet A clarinet from Carl
Marks. I think I paid $250 for the Bb - an R-13, and I still have it.

In my own humble little way, I am trying to emulate Mr. Marks. I have had a
fun time this summer picking out and selling Buffet R-13's and 1193's. I sold
an 1193 that I wanted to keep so badly for myself, I could hardly stand it!
Fiscal prudence finally triumphed over mad musical lust however, and I
shipped the bass to a gentleman in Charlotte, NC. Since then he and I have become
pretty good online friends. Anyway, just rambling...back to work...........
