Subj: [kl] Katrina: the first blame

From what I keep hearing on the TV news, the
public and politicians in New Orleans have known
SINCE THE 1920's, that they were dangerously
vulnerable to flooding and hurricanes, above a
certain level of force. They were repeatedly warned
to build up their protective walls, and raise many
building higher above sea level. Their own petty
greed and laziness is to blame, and this fate was
likely to happen someday, and that day finally came.

I think a lot of still-living former-politicians in
Louisiana should be investigated for WHY they
took no action in the LAST 80 YEARS. Some
might deserve prison time for varying degrees of
Depraved Indifference, Manslaughter and/or even
Mass Murder, resulting from their inaction.

As for those who might be guilty of foot-
dragging in the last week, they also deserve scrutiny,
and maybe even eventually prison time, but the Most
Urgent Duties Right Now are to the care for the
survivors. I believe that Phoenix is to take in 1000
people, while Tucson is taking in about 800.

I can promise you, that there is no is not dearth of
corrupt sociopathic politicians in the USA, in the past
and present, and many deserve prison time.

As for trying to explain anything of history to
Danyel Franke, I think you are wasting your time.
I'm fully expecting more pearls of glaring stupidity,
as we've so often seen in the past.
