Subj: [kl] Schools Accepting Faculty/Student Transfers from Katrina
Date: Sat, 03 Sep 2005 12:07:54 -0400

From various lists, I've heard the following schools are accepting displaced
students and faculty for a single semester up to a year... depending. There
are deadlines, so respond ASAP.

If there are any clarinet students are in the bunch who need a good teacher
to transfer to, I'll put a plug for Donald Oehler at UNC-Chapel Hill. Tell
him I sent ya!

In response to requests from a number of students whose academic careers are
being interrupted due to Hurricane Katrina, UA has extended the registration
period for college students from New Orleans and the Mississippi gulf coast
area who want to enroll at UA for fall semester. Dr. Jacqueline Morgan,
assistant director of admissions, will work with the students and expedite
the process,
assisting these students with admission, registration, housing and financial
aid. Morgan can be reached at 205/348-2914, 205/348-8190 or
Jacqueline.Morgan@-----.edu

Also, the UA School of Law has set up a Visiting Students program to allow
Law students from UNO and Loyola to attend classes tuition free for one
semester.
