It seems difficult to find English nouns behaving like this that are quite so
simple and basic as the Hebrew ones you use. (It might be nice to just use
the Hebrew ones even with non-Hebrew speakers -- I was delighted to learn my
first two words of Hebrew....;-)

Some possibilities, though they're not nouns:

ATTEND (be present to) <--> TENDER (gentle)
REFER (mention, or pass on) <--> FURRY (covered with fur, like a cat)
RESULT (outcome) <--> SULTRY (languorous, sexy)
'ELLO (hello) <--> LOWER

There's also the possibility of:

REFUSE (accent on the second syllable, voiced 's', meaning, 'say no') and,
REFUSE (accent on the first syllable, unvoiced 's', meaning, 'rubbish'.)

Probably someone else will do better.

Tony
