I don't know.

I know that he sold some of his instruments on the auction site a few years ago.
I don't know much more than that.

He and I never really saw 'eye to eye' about certain things.

I liked his products very much. I didn't like his assertion that you couldn't
'play properly' with only just part of his setups. i.e. - his ligature with
someone else's mouthpiece. He wouldn't sell just a ligature or just a
mouthpiece the last time I talked with him (probably more than 5 years ago) and
I wasn't in love with his mouthpiece enough to purchase it just to get a new Bb
ligature. The arrogance that you could not play properly on other products that
didn't receive his 'respect' was a bit much for me.

Don't get me wrong, doesn't mean he wasn't a great guy and all, fine artist or
anything like that. Just didn't mesh well in a business sense with me.....

What's happened to Charles Bay? His "website" vanished ages ago.

I saw his ligatures on sale at Howarth's recently so I assumed he was
still going.
