I recently came across this quote by Richard
Stoltzman...
[excerpted from a quote by Michael Lowenstern,
concerning an episode of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood]

"Clarinetist Richard Stoltzman was the guest and the
two of them were at Joe Negre's music shop. Stoltzman
was describing the members of the clarinet family when
Mr. Rogers asked, 'What's that big one?' Stoltzman
answered, 'Oh that's a bass clarinet. It's found
mostly in bands. It's pretty obscure and hard to play.
There isn't really much call for it.'"

Excuse me!?!?!?!

Just wanted to make sure you were all aware...

Off to waste time on his obscure instrument,
-Jacob

Jacob - if it were an Alto Clarinet he would have been right on target!
