Subj: [kl] Stolzman and Copland concerto
Date: Tue, 09 Aug 2005 12:17:33 -0400

I was watching the classic music channel on TV this morning and
ther was a performance of the slow movement of the Copland
concerto with Stolzman, the London SO, and Michael Tilson Thomas
conducting. More and more I come to realize that, for my ears,
Stolzman is still a supreme interpreter of this work and
especiallally this movement. His control is simply perfect, the
sound is exquisite, and the vibrato adds so much character to his
performance of the movement. It is just splendid playing. I'm
impressed again and again with his work.
