Bravo Dan!

There is some real validity to this argument. In many ways, musicians have
much to build an invisible wall between themselves and he audience, in effect
distancing themselves from the people who are -- in the final analysis --
paying to be entertained.

We then moan and groan about the lack of full houses for concerts and
deficit budgets for symphony orchestras.

Learned professors write articles, and e-mails, saying we must EDUCATE the
public into proper behavior.

That kind of approach is never going to work. To build an audience, an
artist, a group, a whatever has to connect, and usually connect emotionally, with
the audience for them to relax, enjoy, relate...and then want to come back.
