A. Fontaine is a stencil clarinet (the company/ies that made it are
unknown): made for resale by music stores. Which also means that your A.
Fontaine might not share heritage with another person's.

Sometimes the original manufacturer can be identified; if you take the
keys off you might find a manufacturer's identifier in the areas not in
plain sight.
