Dear List,

A blatant plug for a composer friend of mine (of my own volition):

http://www.robertschoen.com/

He has written two pieces for solo clarinet and piano which are very
accessible (both technically and harmonically) to late high school players
perhaps early collegiate players. "Clarinet Games" and "Three Pieces for
Clarinet". Interestingly, "Three Pieces for Clarinet" is part of a larger
performance piece (very much in the spirit of P.D.Q. Bach) called "Revenge
of the Composer". Long story short, he wrote three short pieces for
clarinet and piano (hence the aforementioned title) and "composed" an on
stage audience "accompaniment" (that is there are two audiences... the real
one and on stage actors performing as one). The idea was to, in the spirt
of humor, demonstrate all the things audience members do that they
*shouldn't* do at a performance.

Both pieces have MP3 demos, "Three Pieces for Clarinet" was recorded with
your's truly on clarinet.

Disclaimer: I have no financial relationship whatsoever with Robert Schoen
blah blah blah...

Enjoy,

-Adam

PS: There are also two nice sextets for Flute, Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone,
Trumpet, Trombone and Vibes ("Weaving and Tapestry of Tones" 1 and 2).
