Subj: [kl] Bass part in A
Date: Sun, 31 Jul 2005 03:09:04 -0400

I've agreed against my better judgement to play the bass part in an
amateur performance of Rachmaninov Symphony no. 1 in three weeks (how
could I refuse Rachmaninov?) but unashamedly have no inclination to read
from the part for Bass Clarinet in A in Bass Clef. I have a non music
day job which is quite demanding at the moment and while I agree it
would be very good for me in an abstract sort of way to learn to read
Bass Clef and transpose, I have no realistic chance of being able to do
this confidently or competently in time. I want to enjoy playing, not
be worried about reading the notes. So, before I spend a few hours
writing out a part the old fashioned way(with pencil and paper) in Bb in
Treble clef, I thought I might as well ask whether anyone has such a
part who might be willing to help me out? Many thanks, Gavin Rebetzke.
