Klarinet Archive - Posting 000354.txt from 2005/07
From: Mark Charette <charette@-----.org> Subj: [kl] RE: Double posts Date: Fri, 29 Jul 2005 13:19:19 -0400
One of the most common problems is an email address change where the old
email address is (sometimes) forwarded and the new email address gets all
the new messages, too (a double subscription, but often flaky).
Looking at the email headers will determine if that is happening.
Another cause of double posts is an email server that's having network or
protocol issues. If the line is dropped unexpectedly, the originating
server assumes that the receiving server didn't get the message and tries
again later. Email headers will show this, too (same email address, but
different send times).
