Hi everybody-

I am done with my Master's degree except for doing a project. What I
thought would be a good idea would be to make a CD of music that a
middle/school clarinetist might play for contest. I've judged some
contests and know that many kids don't have a clue how pieces are
supposed to sound, rhythmically and/or stylistically. I know that in
an ideal world, every student would have a private teacher to help
them, but in reality, that doesn't happen, so I thought that a model
of appropriate pieces might be good for those kids that have to work
on their own. What I am asking from you is to write me (off-list
would be just fine) with ideas of what your kids play for solo
contest - pieces & books they are from. I'd prefer public domain
music so I don't have to deal with copyright issues, but anything
would be appreciated. If you have any other thoughts regarding this
project, I'd like to hear them too. Again, off-list would be great -
this subject won't pertain to that many other people.

Thanks in advance (back to lurking)
