Hey Wayne,

What were you doing in SLO? That's my home town!

I played the Schubert 8tet about a year and a half ago and have a recording
of one of the concerts. On listening to it, I hear the clarinet very clearly
but then I'm listening to my playing to learn from it and I don't think I
can objectively state how present the clarinet should be. In which venue
were they playing? Maybe the acoustic was unfavorable to the clarinet? More
likely he is just such a good player, that he is able to stay under the
strings and mix his sound with theirs.

David
