I studied with David Peck for about a year and a half when I was living
in San Diego (about 1989-91) until he took the principal position with
the Houston Symphony. I would give anything to have heard him play that
piece of music.

If anything, David is quite the perfectionist, which one has to be to
play chamber music and orchestral music. Note this is not a criticism,
but a compliment. That is one reason I nearly cried when I found out he
was leaving, since I prefer such folks with whom to study. (Though I
couldn't blame him in the least, believe me - but I will not comment on
that here) His attention to the details of playing, and to minute
aspects of the music are what make him a fabulous musician, and artist.
