Subj: RE: [kl] Last night I heard the new 1st clarinet at the SF Opera

When I was a student at Eastman (1993-1997), the principal in Syracuse was
Kevin Schempf (if I remember correctly). He was a hell of a player- was a
finalist in the Boston Auditions many times and frequently played at
Tanglewood.

If that is indeed who is there, the opera will be in good hands.

PS, He's also a heck of a nice guy and a good teacher as well- he did a
great masterclass when I was at Eastman on double-tonguing
