Yes, price varies by size. Tenor reeds are generally the same price as bass
clarinet reeds. Alto reeds are between clarinet and tenor reeds in both
size and price.

I think you are imagining it. Of course, the blanks must be made from a
different SIZE of cane tube, i.e., one of larger diameter.
