Oh, ouch!

I knew Mr. Stubbins. He was a highly respected teacher of clarinet at the
University of Michigan for many, many years. He was a very nice, kind, soft-
spoken gentleman. He was also a very careful researcher and sincerely tried to
advance the art of playing the clarinet.

He unfortunately died far too young. I can't remember if he was already
retired or was only about to retire, but his passing left a huge vacuum. It was a
terrible loss felt by many at the time.
