There are two schools of thought on this amongst professional players and
teachers: some do, and some do not.

I have never oiled the bore of my modern instruments, and they are fine.

I oil the bore of my early instruments as often as I can.

BTW, unless you use a quick-drying synthetic oil, you will need to remove
all the hardware before oiling and then put it back.
