Hey. Just a day or two ago I suggested (partly in humor) that sword
swallowing and hot dog swallowing could be useful disciplines for
clarinetists --- even though the glottis's primary function is to divert
flow from lungs to stomach, or vice versa.

Now David has come up with a science-based article which relates the
glottis directly to a woodwind's tone. It's just that (according to
this article) _closing_ the glottal opening, rather than opening it,
produces the tone which knowledgable didgeridoo players allegedly
prefer.
