The sender will then ask for you to take a cashier's check or money
order as payment in advance. The amount will be for significantly more
than the lessons would cost. The sender will ask for you to send the
extra amount back to them (and may even tell you to keep a little "for
your trouble"), probably via Western Union or some other cash system.

Needless to say, the cashier's check or money order will be bogus.

Just a variation on a standard scam.
