Further question re: Legere reeds:
I currently play on Vandoren V12 #3.5 reeds. What is likely to be the
closest equivalent Legere?

Geoff, I would try a 3.5 Legere. If it is a little too stiff, you can dip the tip into boiling water for one second to permanently soften it.
