Bill,

I have many pilots as friends....and the operations VP for American Airlines
lives across the street. I've asked them about this pressure/temp issue on
more than one occasion and they report that almost all baggage compartments
on commercial airlines are both pressurized and temperature controlled.
There are very few exceptions to this...
Heat or cold while luggage sits on the runway before loading is a real
issue.

The luggage in the hold isn't frozen and the dog in the kennel is safe....
