You might be able to get for free from a dealer the little CD-ROM the
Gemeinhardt flute company gives out. It includes both a metronome AND a
tuner program. The metronome gives both sound and a simulated flashing
light, although it has no other significant features, like different tones
for downbeats or subdivisions.
I do also know of a program called Musician Tools that has a better
metronome (1 to 8 beats per measure) and a pitch generator for your Palm
PDA. That one is downloadable.
