If that was only true for the R13 bassett horn! A friend of mine plays it
and it sounds more like a bass than my antique Moennig (german syst.) alto
in Eb. Also I tried the R13 alto and found little difference in character to
their bassett horn.
BTW does anybody on the list have more informations on Mueller's clarinette
alto? Are there any surviving altos from that period?
