When Buffet hires me to write an intelligent catalog you will see
how it should be written. Until then, you will have to wonder
how it might be done.

Agreed. I don't think there is any room for argument.

But.... is it possible that there wasn't enough room on the page
for one
more instrument --- especially since a basset clarinet deserves
three
times as many glorious adjectives as any other clarinet?

Dan, I ask the following *not* as a challenge:

I think nearly all of us dismiss those adjectives as meaningless,
but it
does raise the issue: What _would_ you say in a catalog in order
to
inform customers of the differences between models of
approximately the
same quality but different bores, intonations, etc --- keeping in
mind
that few dealers are willing to (or capable of) stocking all the
choices
for a number of different brands --- and assuming that your goal
is to
deliver information (because some other area of the catalog can
describe
Buffet's dedication to excellence, endorsements, understanding of
acoustics, customer service, etc)?
