A number of years ago, I compiled a list of the marketing terms
put out by Le Blanc for their entire array of clarinets. I've
reposted it several times as an example of marketing fluff that
says a great deal of nothing.

Here are some comments from the Buffet catalog printed in 2004.

TOSCA: "The Tosca clarinet offers a generous velvet sound rich in
warmth and unrivalled in its stability and consisteny of
intonation."

FESTIVAL: "Musicians will certainly appreciate its depth of
sound, which is particularly warm. The tone and precision of this
instrument are in perfect harmony. The festival belongs to the
R13 bore family and has a rich powerful fluid tone."

VINTAGE: "Today the Vintage has charmed many clarinettists over
the world. They choose the Vintage for its fluid, focused ton,
its homogeneity in all registers, and its easy response... The
Vintage A has a special bore designed to provide a previously
unreached level of flexibility and remarkable tuning with a
warmth in all registers."

RD PRESTIGE: "... the RC clarinet has a pure, sweet sound. The
exclusive design of the RC bore results in easy response and a
homogeneity in all registers. This clarinet, which also has great
stability, has won over innumerable musicians throughout Europe.
Numerous improvements have been made to the famous RC Prestige,
now its already remarkable tone is even better: the shape of the
bell plays a major role in adding warmth and focus."

R13 PRESTIGE: "Musicians are charmed by its rich and focused
sound, its power in all registers and its flexibility.

E-flat, D, C: "Musicians [sic -- possessive case required] needs
are constantly evolving and it seems only right that we should
grant clarinet players' wishes by creating specialised models.
Each of these instruments has its own identity and can be used to
play a variety of styles. Each musician will find his or her own
personal means of expression."

GREEN LINE: [No marketing comments at all, just a description of
the blending of ebony power with carbon fibre in a Buffet
patented process.]

C12 CONSERVATORY Eb [sic]: "You will be charmed by the quality of
sound projection and the professional feel of this instrument."

E10, E11, E12: "Recommended by music teachers because of their
easy response and remarkably accuracy, these clarinets help the
musician to develop his musical talent."

E11 Cl: "This new model has been designed for the very young
players with their comfort in mind."

B10, B12: "You will appreciate these student clarinets for their
ease of playing and their perfectly centered sound in all
registers. These models allow easy response and perfect accuracy,
fulfilling the needs of players of all ages and standards. The
B10 and B12 clarinets are made from ABS resin with an appearance
and sound similar to that of genuine grenadilla wood."

I concluded by pointing out that there is no basset clarinet in
the catalog and, therefore, nothing to say, except why not?
