In my experience, that ability turns out to be a really BAD thing, since it
exponentially increases the likelihood of knocking keys out of alignment, a
problem already serious enough with one-piece bass clarinets in the hands
of young students!

Of course, in school bands nobody plays soprano sax, since there are no
parts. That would explain why you see so few on school busses.
