Dan,

So it had the C#/G# tone hole in the wrong place, just like a wooden
clarinet! Seriously, this is an advantage of one-piece clarinets, that there
are no compromises in the middle of the instrument - this tone hole, and the
bridge mechanism. And the joint makes it weaker. I don't know why plastic
clarinets aren't moulded in one piece, as it makes a lot of sense. (More
expensive mould of course, and this is costly).
