Tom Ridenour's website claims that hard rubber (as opposed to the usual
plastics) is actually superior in acoustical terms to grenadilla.
Of course, he's selling a line of hard rubber instruments so he has a
vested interest in you believing this. :-)
Anyone have experience with these?
