At a guess: because there exists manuscript material for parts of the
Concerto (or at least a preliminary sketch) which indicates basset
passages, along with the review of the first published edition that
quotes altered passages, while (correct me if I'm wrong) there is no
source material at all on the question of what passages in the Quintet
were altered?
