Subj: [kl] Alto Clarinet Question
Date: Mon, 20 Jun 2005 16:43:46 -0400

Hello Again. A few months ago I asked the list for some advise for playing the alto clarinet. Well I have another question. for of all I am now playing on a Selmer two piece wood alto clarinet that goes down to low Eb. The problem that I have been having with this horn is that no matter how long I play my concert A (F# top line for me)is always 20 cents flat. If I push in that note is in tune and all the other ones are really out of tune. So my question is, what do I have to have done to the alto clarinet so the concert A is more in tune. Also I would like to say thank you Walter Grabner. I bought an alto clarinet mouthpiece from him back in March and I love it. I sound more like an instrument and less like a thing. Once again thank you. Oh one more question, has any one tried a legere alto sax reed on an alto clarinet, and if so how did it sound. Thank You.
