Dan Leeson Said:
<This morning I had breakfast with Bernd Wurlitzer who is managing director
of the Herbert Wurlitzer company. Pleasant and charming man whose English
is almost letter perfect.>

Dan,

His German is pretty good, too! Bernd is a regular at the ICA Fests, always
with his Reform Boehms and the German System. I've been playing the Boehms
at his booth for many years and really love them. We generally have lunch
and discuss our favorite German System player, Michele Zukovsky. He even
helped Michele pick out about 2.5 kilos of good German coffee to bring back
for me on the LA Phil's recent week trip to Cologne. I'm hooked on the
stuff. As I posted earlier, she was there (with a former student) playing
duets on the Reform Boehms. I guess they sold a pair of the clarinets. She
just e-mailed me that she had heard Ricardo Morales play the Brahms Quintet
and was really in awe of his playing (me, too). That's fine praise from one
of her caliber. She called him "a Leister (in his prime) of the US". Good
comparison, I think.

Must make the next OK Symposium...... and buy Dan a pizza.
